I bought this book a few years ago on the strength of a few very high reviews, and I'm glad I did. I find myself re-reading an interview or two a few times a year. It's a book that's great for picking up and reading for a short while because it's arranged as a series of unconnected interviews with several millionaires. Then you can put it down again without feeling like you'll lose the thread of the book.

The interviewees provide a lot of inspiration, perspective, and a few really good actionable ideas about becoming the kind of person who becomes a millionaire.

FYI: I am unconnected to the authors and have not been asked (or bribed) to provide this review in any way. I just think it's a good book that I've gotten a lot of use from in the past few years.

A really good book by Mike Litman and Jason Osman, this book is more to do with how to become the type of person that would be a millionaire rather than being a millionaire yourself. It is about self development with a view to everything else following. Many good interviews on leading entrepeneurs. This is the type of instruction that may make you a millionaire or a succeeder in life even if you don't.

Interesting book

I really enjoyed this book. Lots of interesting information about the band itself, the individuals associated with the band and also the state of the world from that particular time. I've liked Crass for around thirty years now and their album 'Stations of the Crass' has held up well over the years. (My favourite Crass album). More importantly the message is as pertinent now as it ever was. I liked the way the people spoke of having to find their identity again after the band broke up. I could totally relate to that. When you're immersed in an alternative culture finding your place in the 'normal' world and relating to mainstream people is very difficult. Anyway! The book is highly recommend by me, I enjoyed it.

Fascinating band

If you grew up on punk music in the 80s, you had an opinion of Crass. You either loved them or hated them, but very few were indifferent. For me, the band had a mystique that transcended their music and I have to say, I was more interested in the look and content of their records than the politics of the band.
The packaging and design of all the releases really kept me buying, not just Crass, but all bands on the Crass record label. Crass used design very effectively.
And this is featured in the book prominently (graphic designers take note). Just about every question I would have for the band is answered in the book. The use of art, the relationship with the press, the private lives of the members examined. I had to nick a whole star off the review though because there is no index not enough pictures. This book is the best thing I have read on Crass though, George Berger, though, mentions that his preferred Anarchist Band was the Poison Girls. I do not agree, but would certainly read a book about them. Whad'ya say George?

A scatter-brained book with some gems, but a lot of wasted space

Des Griffin has a very captivating writing-style. I read his book "The Fourth Reich of the Rich" a few years ago, and I absolutely loved it. This book, however, not so much. He goes from Biblical studies to politics to conspiracies to theology to "fill in the blank". I read the book, and after I put it down, I thought to myself, "What was the overarching point?" There was no sort of cohesiveness. It was almost like he wrote 100 blogs that contained his various rantings and put them together into a book.

However, the book contains a lot of good information. Even though it was written in what appeared to be a spontaneous manner, there are of some gems about thew Bible and the government. One theological point of contention that I have, however, is that he lumps all Christians who believe that man is saved by good works as "Arminians." That is simply not true. He said that if you believe in "free will," you worship man and put man above God. So I guess that all Christians pre-Calvin (16th century)worshipped man? His reformed dogma is not very pleasant.

Anyways, I recommend this book, but only after reading his other books. The lack of organization and the one theological eroor are not enough to dissuade me from recommending it, but it is my least favorite of his books. I HIGHLY recommend "Fourth Reich of the Rich."

A commendable achievement

The book is indeed, as per the History Today reviewer's comment, "stout, reliable and substantial" but, by the same token, it is somewhat dense and intimidating, for beginners. This is not to cavil at Professor Jotischky's painstaking study which provides useful insights into the concepts of jihad and the state of the Islamic Middle East prior to the onset of the First Crusade as well as the idea of the Crusade in the West. I would particularly recommend the author's marvelous job in Chapters 8 thru 10. Nevertheless, one would have liked to see a chapter dealing with the intellectual and cultural exchanges (except a brief nod at art and architecture, pp. 145-49) between the West and its overseas extension, the so-called Outremer, that contributed so much to the efflorescence of Western Civilization. Yet the book is a must read, its single shortcoming notwithstanding.
