Laurence Steinberg, Ph.D., is the Distinguished University Professor and Laura H. Carnell Professor of Psychology at Temple University. He is the author or coauthor of several books and his work has also appeared in many publications, including The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. He lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Must have book. Should be required reading for a marriage license and children baring license if there was such a thing!
Found out just how much better one can parent with this book.

Best Parenting Book I've Read

I loved this book. It was just so . . . sensible! I have read many parenting books and most of them leave me feeling angry or inadequate. Instead of giving specific step by step parenting instructions (which, let's be honest, is ridiculous because every child is different as is every parent), it gives PRINCIPLES. That way I can think, "What action is best according to the principles?" with my parenting decisions. I know I will be reading this book again and again as my children encounter different stages of life. Even though the principles really seem like common sense, most of us don't follow them consistently. Certainly it's a good reminder for all of us.
